Why would Ochocinco call out Merriman?
The San Diego Chargers will play against the Cincinnati Bengals on December 20, 2009. But, the hype for the game has already began. Bengals wide-receiver Chad Johnson said on Twitter about Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman: “Somebody please tell Shawne Merriman thats is ass on Dec. 20th, relay the message to the rest of the D, especially Cromartie!!!!child please.”
In response, Shawne Merriman created a video. Merriman said that if Chad Johnson continued to call him out, he was going to ring his neck. This new Merriam vs. Ochocinco rivalry should bring great attention and hype to this game. Though, all the talking will be done on the field.
But, of course, the only problem is that the game between the San Diego Chargers and Cincinnati Bengals is in December, which is five months from now. A lot of things can happened between here and then. What if one of the players or both players are out of this game due to injuries, what then?
Well see if the trash taking continues throughout the season, but one thing for sure is that the hype will start up again the week of the game. Only time will tell who will be on the winning side and who will have the last laugh. Stay tuned.
Why Rodney Harrison should have retired as a Chargers?
Last Wednesday, the former San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots safety, Rodney Harrison announced his retirement from the NFL. As a New England Patriots, Rodney Harrison won two Super Bowls. But, more than that, Harrison brought passion and physicality to the safety position. One of the best quality of Rodney Harrison’s game was his leadership.
For the San Diego Chargers, with all of Harrison qualities as an NFL player, it would have been nice to keep Rodney Harrison. Harrison went to two Pro Bowls as a San Diego Chargers. In 2003, due to several factors, the Chargers decided to release Rodney Harrison. Since Harrison left the Chargers, the Chargers have had a hard time finding players to fill his spot.
Despite of what was going on between the Rodney Harrison and the Chargers front office, Rodney Harrison should have never been let go. The best thing for Harrison was moving on and joining the New England Patriots. Harrison leadership helped the Patriot win two Super Bowl. Who know how his career could have turned out as a Chargers. But, the only thing left for Rodney Harrison’s NFL career to be complete, will be his placed in the NFL Hall of Fame. And what a Hall of Fame career it was.
