Successful Homecoming for L.T. and Coach Turner
When the San Diego Chargers played the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, it was like a reunion for both players and coaches alike. Chargers running back, LaDainian Tomlinson, was born and grew up in Texas. Tomlinson also played college football at TCU, (Texas Christian University, in Texas). For Chargers coach Norv Turner, he was the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator for two straight years during the Cowboys’ Super Bowl run in the early 1990s. He was also a contender for the Cowboys head coaching job in 2007. However, the Dallas Cowboys decided to hire coach Wade Philips instead.
Cowboys coach Wade Philips was the Chargers defensive coordinator from 2003–2006. Coach Philips was successful in helping the Chargers get into the playoffs during those years, which helped him get the job as Cowboys coach. Finally, for Cowboys defensive end, Igor Olshansky, he was drafted by the Chargers in 2004. Olshansky played for the Chargers for four years. Olshansky signed with the Cowboys in 2009.
But, unfortunately for the coach Wade Philips and Igor Olshansky, they could not get the win over their former employer. The San Diego Chargers beat the Dallas Cowboys, 20-17. L.T. was able to score a touchdown during the game and Coach Turner got another win under his belt as the Chargers head coach. What a great homecoming game for both Tomlinson and coach Norv Turner.

Big Win for Chargers in Dallas
All last week in Dallas, there was a lot of talk about the struggles of the Dallas Cowboys to win in December. And, once again, the Dallas Cowboys could not get it done, as the Chargers beat the Cowboys 20-17 on Sunday. But, for the San Diego Chargers, they have no trouble winning in December. The San Diego Chargers are now 16-0 in December under Philip Rivers.
Philip Rivers played a good game for the Chargers. Rivers threw for 272-yards and had one touchdown. Also, wide-receiver, Vincent Jackson, was another player who had a good game for the Chargers. Vincent Jackson had seven catches for 120-yards. But, for the San Diego Chargers, it was their defense that stepped up in this game. The biggest plays on defense were made by Chargers linebacker, Brandon Siler.
First, Brandon Siler sacked Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo, in the first quarter. Later in the game, the Dallas Cowboys were driving down the field, however, they could not score a touchdown near the goal line. The Chargers defense stopped the Cowboys on four straight rushing plays and Brandon Siler was there to make sure that the Cowboys did not score. Towards the end of the game, the Dallas Cowboys failed to stop Chargers offense from marching down the field. The Chargers were able to take over seven minutes off the clock in the fourth quarter. The Chargers would eventually kick a field goal to ice the game for the Chargers.
For Tony Romo, coach Wade Phillips and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys, this was a costly loss. If the Cowboys won this game, they would have been on top of the NFC East division. However, it was not meant to be for the Dallas Cowboys. With the Cowboys losing, it leaves the door open for the Eagles or Giants to gain control of the NFC East. We shall see if the Cowboys can rebound or will it be too late for Dallas Cowboys as they try to make a push for the playoffs.
As for the San Diego Chargers, this was great victory. The Chargers are now on a eight game winning streak. But, more important than the winning streak is that the Chargers are two games up on the Broncos in the AFC West division. With two more wins, the Chargers can clinch their division. Also, since the Bengals lost earlier in the day, the Chargers are the second seed in the playoff race for now. If the San Diego Chargers can get a victory over the Bengals next week, it will place them in great position to make a great run in the playoffs. Only time will tell, so stay tuned.

Why does a former Chargers QB continues to Struggle with Life after College?
On Thursday, former San Diego Chargers quarterback, Ryan Leaf was indicted with on drug and burglary charges. What’s is wrong with this story? The fact that Leaf cannot turned his life around in unbelievable. The Chargers drafted Ryan Leaf as their first pick and second overall draft pick in the 1998 draft. But, Ryan Leaf’s NFL career turned out be a was huge disappointment.
Ryan Leaf’s NFL career ended in 2002. After a short stint as West Texas A&M quarterbacks coach, Ryan Leaf was put on indefinite leave for allegedly asking one of his players for a pain killer. In late 2008, he resigned from his position at West Texas.
But, the fact that Ryan Leaf continues to struggle with life after football is too bad. Coming out Washington State, there was so much potential for Ryan Leaf as a successful college player. And for all that potential to not be fulfilled is unfortunate. If Ryan Leaf has hit rock bottom, hopefully he will be able to get his life straight, but we will have to wait and see what happens next.

Owens is Out of Dallas, Is the Cowboys Drama Over?
The Dallas Cowboys released wide-receiver Terrell Owens on Thursday. This was a surprising move, however, its seems that the Cowboys are ready to move in a new direction. Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones said, “We will move on now with a new team, a new attitude and into a new stadium.” But, was it the right decision for the Cowboys?
When NFL teams played against the Dallas Cowboys, they needed to game plan against T.O. Also, the Dallas Cowboys will take a $9 million dollars hit against the cap this season. But, for the players in the Cowboys locker room, the distraction of T.O. will hopefully bring the team together.
However, are the Dallas Cowboys are a better team without Terrell Owens? Only time will tell. But, for the teams in the NFC East, they are probably the most happy teams in the NFL, since they don’t have to play against him as a Dallas Cowboys.

Another Quarterback Problem for Terrell Owens?
As the Dallas Cowboys prepared to play the New York Giants on Sunday, there were reports coming out of Cowboys camp that Dallas Cowboys wide-receiver, Terrell Owens was having issues with his quarterback, Tony Romo, of not throwing him the ball enough. Owens was also applying that Tony Romo and tight-end, Jason Witten, were scheming to create plays from themselves and not to involve T.O.
This is unbelievable. This situation, were T.O. has issues with his quarterback happened with his former teams, the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and now the Dallas Cowboys. How is it possible that a quarterback would not want to throw the ball to one of the best wide-receivers in the NFL? Football is a team game and there is only one football. Last year, when the Dallas Cowboys lost in the playoffs, T.O. went in front of reporters after the game and said not to blame his quarterback for the loss. So, now what? Is Tony Romo not his quarterback any more? Sure Tony Romo would like to throw the ball more to T.O. because he is a playmaker, but defenses scheme to try to stop T.O. and the Cowboys. So, it can’t all be Romo fault that T.O. doesn‘t get the ball more.
Last week, the New York Giants had their controversy with the Plaxico Burress issue and this week it’s the Dallas Cowboys turn. The Plaxico Burress’ distraction and controversy probably contribute to the loss last week for the New York Giants. We’ll see how the T.O. controversy effects the Dallas Cowboys from now on.

Good Cowboy, Bad Cowboy?
The NFL reinstated Dallas Cowboys CB Adam “Pacman” Jones this week, but he won’t be able to play until December 7th against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Good for Jones for going through the alcohol treatment program. Can Adam Jones stay on the right track? How are others in the locker room going to respond to him? Should this is should be Jones last chance for this year, if he messes up again? Hopefully for Adam Jones, he has learned his lesson. We shall see.
On the other hand, Cowboys QB Tony Romo went to the movies recently and bought a homeless man his movie ticket. Not only that, Romo even told the homeless man to sit next to him during the movie. The man even admitted to Tony Romo that he had not showered in a couple of days. But, it did brother Romo because as an NFL player, guess what, they are use to locker rooms and those of you who know, that place does have not the greatest smell! For “Pacman” Jones, if there was a role model he wanted to follow and use as an example of doing things the right way, his own teammates is a great example. Good for you, Tony Romo!

How About Them Cowboys?
First, Adam “Pacman” Jones gets suspended again. “Pacman” Jones was involved in an altercation with one of his own bodyguards on October 7. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell decided to suspend Jones for at a minimum of four games for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
Second, Cowboys quarterback and leader, Tony Romo suffered an injury, in which he broke his right pinky finger on his throwing hand. Tony Romo will be out for at least four weeks.
Third, finally some good news? The Dallas Cowboys made a trade with the Detroit Lions for Roy Williams. The Cowboys traded away their first-round draft choice, a third and a sixth in exchange for Roy Williams and the Lions’ seventh-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. Can Roy Williams work with T.O.? Or will Terrell Owens become an unstoppable force now that he has an good play maker on the other side of the field?
How will these distractions affect the Dallas Cowboys, as they go through the season? After losing their leader, Tony Romo, to an injury and now they lose Jones due to suspension, are the Dallas Cowboys in trouble? The Dallas Cowboys have some tough games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Redskins and the defending champions, New York Giants.
Only time will tell, stay tuned!

“Pacmac” Jones Involved in a Fight
Adam “Pacman” Jones was involved in a fight at a hotel late Tuesday night. It was reported that he was involved in a fight with one of his bodyguards, according to Dallas police. No one was charged or arrested for the fight.
Now what? NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Jones in last year for his legal issues. What is the Goodell going to do now? Should he suspend him, fine him or both? Should the Dallas Cowboys suspend him for a game or two?
Is Adam “Pacman” Jones under the spell of “Murphy’s Law” (”Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong”)? Jones needs to live with the decisions he makes, but there’s always a second chance. Can “Pacman” Jones learn from this, only he knows and we all got to wait and see.
