Super Win for Brees and the Saints
Coming into the Super Bowl, for Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints, it seemed like a tough challenged to take on the mighty Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning. However, even though the Saints were down 10-0 early, the Saints were not going to be denied. The Saints fought back and made the plays the need to do to beat the Colts, 31-17 to win Super Bowl XLIV.
Credit to the Saints for going for the win and not playing too conservative. Late in the 2nd quarter, the Saints should have kicked the field goal when they were down by the goal line. But, they decided to go for it and did not make. However, on the opening kick of the 2nd half, the Saints went for a onside kickoff and the Saints would get the ball. In the end, it would all payoff for the New Orleans Saints. The Saints played with an attitude that they were not going to lose. For the Saints, it starts and ends with Drew Brees.
Saints quarterback and leader, Drew Brees, played great in this game for the Saints. Brees threw for 288-yards and two touchdowns and he also won the Super Bowl MVP. The Saints would seal the game when Saints cornerback, Tracy Porter, scored on a 74-yard touchdown interception off Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning started off hot for the Colts. But, Manning final interception was costly and would eventually lose the game. The Indianapolis Colts did all the could to win, but it was not enough. The Saints just wanted it more.
As for the New Orleans Saints, this was a great win for not only the Saints players, coaches and the rest of the Saints organization, but for the people of New Orleans. From struggles of Hurricane Katrina to their team winning the Super Bowl, this was a great day in New Orleans’ history. Now, the Saints can look back and feel good knowing that the New Orleans Saints are the 2010 NFL Super Bowl Champions and no other team can say that.

Another NFC Championship loss for Favre
Brett Favre had a chance to lead the Minnesota Vikings to victory over the New Orleans Saints in a very exciting NFC Championship game. However, it was not meant to be. The big question for the Vikings is why didn’t Brett Favre just run ball to gain a couple more yards to give his kicker a better opportunity to kick the game winning field goal?
Instead, Favre tried to throw the ball across the field, which was intercepted by the Saints. Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings offense would never get a chance to see the ball again. After time expired in regulation, the Saints won the coin toss to get the ball first in overtime. After the Saints drove down the field, Saints kicker, Garrett Hartley, won the game on a 40-yard field goal, sending the New Orleans Saints to the Super Bowl.
Two years ago, Brett Favre had an opportunity to lead his old team, the Green Bay Packers to the Super Bowl, but like in this game, Favre threw an interception, which cost the Packers a victory. Now, for Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings, they have to look forward to next year. The big question for the Minnesota Vikings is will Favre return next season. Only time will tell, but this was a costly missed opportunity for the Favre and the Vikings. For the New Orleans Saints, they have a chance to win it all, the Super Bowl. But, standing in there way are the Colts. We shall see if Brees can lead his team to victory again, so stay tuned.

NFL Week 1: Great Debuts and Some Things Never Change
Brett Favre is back. Minnesota Vikings new leader, Brett Favre, had an great debut for the Vikings. With the help of Adrian Peterson, who had 180-yards rushing and scored 3-touchdowns, the Vikings beat the Cleveland Browns 34-20. Favre threw for 110-yards and one touchdown. Also, New York Jets new rookie QB, Mark Sanchez, was another player who had a impressive debut as well. Mark Sanchez through for 272-yards and had one touchdown to lead the Jets to a victory over the Houston Texans, 24-7.
One player that did not have a great debut was Chicago Bears QB, Jay Cutler. Even though the Bears had a chance to win the game, Jay Cutler’s 4-interceptions, including his last interception with 58-seconds left, would doomed the Bears and helped the Green Bay Packers get the victory, 21-15. And for the Detroit Lions, it was not a good day as well.
The Detroit Lions continued their regular-season losing streak to 18 games. The Lions lost to the New Orleans Saints, 45-27. Drew Brees looked awesome, throwing for 358-yards and 6 TDs. And for the Cincinnati Bengals, lady luck was not on their side. With 11 seconds left in the game, Denver Broncos wide-receiver, Brandon Stokley, caught a deflected pass and scored a 87-yard touchdown to help the Broncos beat the Bengals, 12-7 on an amazing and unbelievable play.
With great debuts from Brett Favre and Mark Sanchez, it was another great weekend of NFL football. But, for teams like the Lions, hopefully they can end their losing streak. But, only time will tell.
