Bad Week for the Bears and Cutler

November 15, 2009 · Filed Under Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, San Fransisco 49ers · Comment

For Chicago Bears quarterback, Jay Cutler, this has not been a good week. Last Sunday, the Chicago Bears lost  to the Arizona Cardinals, 41-21. And then, on Thursday night, the Chicago Bears lost to the San Francisco 49ers, 10-6. In that game against the 49ers, despite his first four interceptions, the Bears still had a chance to win the game at the end. However, Jay Cutler last interception was a costly one.

The Bears were at the 12-yard line of the 49ers, but Jay Cutler threw his fifth interception in the end zone to 49ers safety, Michael Lewis, at the end the game, which ended any chances of a Bears victory. If that was not bad enough for Jay Cutler, on Friday, the NFL fined him $20,000 for his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty during the game against the Arizona Cardinals. From being traded from the first place Denver Broncos, at the beginning of season, to the struggling Chicago Bears, what else could go wrong for Jay Cutler?

Well, there is nothing like a win to turn things around. The Chicago Bears will play the Philadelphia Eagles next week. Hopefully for the Chicago Bears and Jay Cutler, they can get a win to get into the playoff race. Though, it will be tough going against the Eagles defense. We shall see if Jay Cutler and the Bears can recover, so stay tuned.

49ers Signed their Number One Pick, Finally!

October 8, 2009 · Filed Under NFL, San Fransisco 49ers · 1 Comment

Well, after training gamp, four NFL preseason games and four NFL regular season games, on Wednesday, the San Francisco 49ers finally signed their number one draft pick, wide-receiver Michael Crabtree. The 49ers signed Michael Crabtree to a six-year contract. But, what took so long? Well, when you have two parties that need to come to an agreement and when one of those parties disagrees with the offer proposed, then that’s where the problems begins.

For Michael Crabtree’s camps, what the San Francisco 49ers was originally offering was not good enough. Both sides tried reach an agreement, but nothing was happening. The San Francisco 49ers finally received a call on Sunday from Crabtree’s camp and they finally met with the 49ers on Tuesday.

As the San Francisco 49ers move forward, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered. What kind of game shape is Michael Crabtree in? How will Michael Crabtree perform on the field after being out of football since college? What role will he play and how will it effect the other players on the team? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure, now the San Francisco 49ers have their number one pick in camp and are ready to play football. The main question for the 49ers, is Michael Crabtree ready to play some NFL football? We shall see.

Chargers Beat 49ers and Are ready for the Season

September 5, 2009 · Filed Under San Diego Chargers, San Fransisco 49ers · Comment

On Friday, the San Diego Chargers beat the San Francisco 49ers 26-7. This was the last time for Chargers players to impress the coaches before the team decides on who will make the roster. One player that looked impressive was Shawne Merriman. Merriman put pressure on the 49ers quarterback and almost had a sack. But, making teams game plan against Shawne Merriman is a huge advantage for the Chargers defense.

Overall, the Chargers defense played great in this game. It is always good going into the season on a winning note, even if it’s only preseason. But, now the real season begins. It time to focus on the 2009 season and get ready for the Monday Night opener against the Oakland Raiders. The main thing is that the San Diego Chargers are going into the season healthy compared to last season. This should be a big advantage for the Chargers, but we shall wait and see.

San Francisco 49ers fire Nolan, Singletary New Head Coach

October 21, 2008 · Filed Under NFL, San Fransisco 49ers · 1 Comment

With just seven game into the season and after four straight losses, the San Francisco 49ers fire head coach Mike Nolan. Mike Nolan was the third NFL coach to be fired this the season, joining the Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams. Under Mike Nolan, the San Francisco 49ers had several offensive coordinators and No. 1 2005 draft pick, Alex Smith did not succeed or produce to way the 49ers was hoping he would. It was more the inconsistency that was wrong with the 49ers under Mike Nolan. There were many factors that lead to the firing, but consistently, chemistry and winning are important elements in football and for some reason it did not happen for the 49ers. Now, it’s time for the San Francisco 49ers to move forward.

Mike Singletary was named new head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. Mike Singletary did interview for several other head coaching jobs, however, this could be a great opportunity for Singletary. Mike Singletary should be bring intensity and fire that the 49ers need. But, was firing the head coach in the middle of the season a good idea? And will the 49ers step it up with Singletary at the helm? Mike Singletary might be the right man for the job as the San Francisco 49ers head coach. The Mike Singletary era begins this weekend against the Seattle Seahawks.
