Chargers Lose Again at the End

November 24, 2008 · Filed Under Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers

At the beginning of this game, the San Diego Chargers knew that if they won this game, they would be one game behind the Denver Broncos for the AFC West title. However, the Chargers were not able to take advantage and lost another game at the end. This was a tough lost for the Chargers to swallow. After the Chargers and Colts exchanging field goals, Philip Rivers was able to find Vincent Jackson for a touchdown in the second quarter. The Indianapolis Colts were able to comeback with a field goal to tie the game at the half 10-10.

The Chargers were driving and had the ball at the Colts 24-yard line. However, the Colts were able to strip the ball from Philip Rivers, which would lead to a Colts touchdown. Later in the game, the Colts were leading 20-10, but credit to Chargers for coming back to tie the game 20-20. One thing a football team cannot do is give Peyton Manning time on the clock to win a game. Unfortunately, for the Chargers, this is what happen and the Colts kicked the game winning field goal to beat the Chargers 23-20.

Time is running out on the San Diego Chargers. Next up for the Chargers, is the return of Michael Turner and the Atlanta Falcons to San Diego. Peyton Manning and the Colts got their revenge against the Chargers for kicking them out of the playoffs last year. And now, Michael Turner will want to get his revenge against the Chargers for not resigning him. Even though the Denver Broncos lost, the Chargers need to step it up, if they expect to make the playoffs.
